Welcome to the Kids Autism Hub! I‘m Bella, your guide. I’m here to show you around and accompany you as you use the Hub.
Let me give you a quick tour of everything we have to offer you!
1. Overview
The Kids Autism Hub is for young autistic people who are newly diagnosed, young people on the diagnosis pathway, and the family members of those young people.
We’ll help you and your family understand more about autism and the different ways autism can affect different people.

2. Topics
We’ve got guides on a wide range of autism topics. From communication to mental health, school to eating, our guides will answer many of your autism questions.
The topics were chosen by families and written by professionals with family experience of autism. And they feature video interviews with young autistic people and their families discussing their experiences.
Browse them all in the Topics menu at the top of the screen.
3. Groups
Join our online Groups to ask questions, go into more detail on the topics, and discuss your own experiences.
Groups take place every week. They’re video calls with other people like you. Each group is hosted by an autism professional and someone with lived experience – a parent or a young person.
You can join a group whenever you like. Come along regularly or drop-in when it takes your fancy. You’ll find a friendly, understanding welcome each time.
4. Directory
There are lots of great services across Essex, Southend, and Thurrock offering support to young autistic people and their families.
Whatever sort of support you need there is probably a service that can help. But only if you know they exist. That’s where our Directory comes in.
It’s full of hand-picked autism services and organisations that have been suggested by families like yours. We keep it under regular review so it only features high-quality services.
5. Getting around
Your Dashboard is where you’ll find all your most important things. Any topics you favourite will be here along with any awards you’ve earned. And you can see any upcoming groups you’ve booked.
If you have trouble using the website or need some support check our Support Page. You’ll find answers to frequently asked questions and ways to contact our support team.
There are different topics for young people and adults. You will automatically see the topics for young people. But if you'd like to take a look around the parent / carer's topics just click the switch in your Account page.
6. And a thank you
Real people are at the heart of the Autism Hub. I’ve been working with some amazing young autistic people, parents, and professionals from across Essex, Southend, and Thurrock. You’ll be meeting them in videos throughout the website and I wanted to say a massive thank you to all of them!
So what's next?
Now you’ve had the tour, why not start exploring our Topics!
You don’t have to read everything in one go. There’s a lot of information so take as long as you need and come back whenever you like.
We really hope you find the service useful! But if you think there’s something missing then please tell us. We’re determined to make it useful for everyone but we can only make things better if we know what you need.
