The role of SENDIASS Southend is to ensure that children and young people with SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) and their parents or carers have access to impartial information, advice and support so that they can make informed decisions about matters relating to their special educational needs.
SENDIAS stands for Special Educational Needs Information, Advice, and Support. It is a free, impartial, and confidential service offering information to young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and to their parents and carers. Every local authority in England provides a SENDIAS service for its residents.
The Southend SENDIASS website provides a wide range of information relating to SEND provision across Southend.
They also provide direct support via phone and face-to-face appointments.
